History & Building

OYO The Leven has been serving the public since 1793 when the building operated as the Golden Lion inn. The historic structure now houses 12 bedrooms with individual decor, each reflecting the building's character. Recent renovations are ongoing, with some rooms already updated to enhance the guest experience.

Dining

Guests dine at The Market Bar & Grill, which serves British cuisine with a significant selection of vegan and vegetarian options. In summer, the outdoor terrace offers scenic dining overlooking the River Leven. The bar also serves a broad range of beers, whiskies, and innovative cocktails.

Rooms

Each of The Leven's 12 rooms is individually decorated and comes with en suite bathrooms, plasma TVs with Freeview, and complimentary tea and coffee. Deluxe double rooms include a bath and a separate walk-in shower. The hotel is currently renovating rooms and corridors to bring them up to a higher standard.

Location & Activities

The Leven Stokesley sits in the busy market town centre, just off the North York Moors National Park (10 minutes' drive). Guests can reach the World of James Herriot in Thirsk within 25 minutes, and Middlesbrough, Darlington, or Northallerton in 30 minutes. Free public parking is available on-site for guests arriving by car.
